The Supply Chain Director is responsible for Purchasing, Subcontracts,
Receiving/Shipping, Material Planning, and Stockroom Management
functions. This position directly reports to the VP/General Manager and
is responsible for management oversight of approximately 25-30 exempt
and nonexempt employees. Functional responsibilities include employee
hiring and development, overhead budgets, performance appraisals, and
wage and salary determination.
The Supply Chain Director ensures compliance with Goodrich and
departmental policies and procedures, fosters good working relationships
between suppliers and Goodrich and promotes forward thinking, Continuous
Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Specific duties include:
Develops and manages supply chain programs to secure accuracy in the
accountability of Government and Goodrich material and ensures the
maintenance of records and data essential to material programs including
MRP.
Establish long-term relationships with Strategic Suppliers that place
Goodrich in a lead position with its suppliers thereby assuring
continuity of supply and best in class quality and pricing.
Guides the selection, development, and management of Strategic Suppliers
to meet commodity cost and performance goals, with emphasis placed on
ability to identify cost targets for relevant technology and product
roadmaps.
Supports the Supplier Quality team and helps develop suppliers and
sources that are properly equipped and staffed to assure a continuous
supply of the required goods and services. Manages supplier performance
metrics.
Knowledgeable of the Federal Acquisition Regulation/Department of
Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR/DFAR) and Small
Business/Small Disadvantaged Business. Directs the coordination and
integration of material requirements from contract planning, engineering
design, through production and delivery of hardware.
Develops knowledge of industry capabilities, new technologies,
availability of materials and B.S. degree in Engineering, Business, Production
Management or equivalent experience. Masters degree preferred.
Prior Management or supervisory experience required, with good oral and
written communication skills. Minimum 7 to 10 yrs experience in Material
Management with familiarity in Manufacturing Engineering, Defense
Contracting and Government regulations. Knowledge and experience working
in an ERP environment. Procurement experience in Federal
purchasing--DoD/NASA/DoD Contractor or military.
